BigLaw agency acknowledges cyberattack on vendor left its information uncovered

Proskauer Rose has stated it’s investigating an incident through which its information was uncovered on a cloud-based platform.
Proskauer issued an announcement Friday in response to a report by TechCrunch that data from its mergers and acquisitions follow was left on an unsecured cloud server for greater than six months, report Law360 and Bloomberg Law.
“Our tech safety staff lately realized that an out of doors vendor that we retained to create an data portal on a third-party cloud-based storage platform had not correctly secured it,” the assertion stated.
Proskauer stated the info was uncovered in a cyberattack, and it resolved the issue two weeks in the past. The legislation agency didn’t establish the kind of information that was uncovered.
“Our IT safety staff instantly took steps to reconfigure the location and safe its information,” the assertion stated. “That is an ongoing investigation and we’ve got been urgently working with in-house and third-party cybersecurity consultants to verify our present understanding of the information.”
