The household of a Michigan man who was shot and killed with an illegally bought shotgun is now turning their consideration to the retailer who allegedly offered the weapon by a ”straw buy.”
Daniel Banaszak was shot and killed by Robert Williams Eakins Jr., of Lee Township, Michigan, in August 2020. Eakins, who was sentenced to life in prison, had a previous felony conviction earlier than the capturing and was barred from legally possessing or buying a firearm, in keeping with the Holland Sentinel newspaper.
