In Memoriam: Richard “Dick” Okay. DeScherer (1944-2024) We mourn the lack of our pal and former accomplice and Co-Chairman, Richard “Dick” Okay. DeScherer. Dick was a member of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP for greater than 24 years. He was the consummate enterprise lawyer, great colleague and true pal. He joined the Bloomberg group in 2012, a shopper for whom he had served as their principal authorized advisor since their inception, and later was appointed as a member of their board. Dick’s data and expertise had been unparalleled, as evidenced by appointment to management and board positions at quite a few well-respected organizations. He was deeply concerned in civic and neighborhood engagements by his work with the S.L.E. (Lupus) Basis, Lupus Analysis Institute, United Hospital Fund of New York, Lincoln Heart for the Performing Arts, Nationwide Dance institute, and Baryshnikov Dance Basis, amongst others. He acquired an LL.M. in Taxation from New York College in 1970, a J.D. from Georgetown College Legislation Heart in 1969, and a B.A. from the College of Virginia in 1966. He was a member of the American Bar Affiliation, the New York State Bar Affiliation and the Affiliation of the Bar of the Metropolis of New York. We provide our sincerest condolences to his household, together with his spouse Jennie, son Christopher and spouse Amanda, daughter Kate, and grandchildren Emmett, Serena, George, Emily and Madeline. We are going to bear in mind Dick with the utmost respect, admiration and affection. His loss will likely be felt by his many pals and colleagues at Willkie, and by all these whose lives he touched.
