NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An investigation from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, together with the Nashville District Legal professional’s Workplace, has concluded there was no wrongdoing by Metro police in relation to an officer-involved shooting last month.
Early within the morning of Nov. 12, Metro cops shot and killed Senquarius Williams in Madison. The taking pictures occurred within the 200 block of Gallatin Pike South.
Officers mentioned police initially responded to the world for a non-critical taking pictures that occurred prior and didn’t contain the police.
In keeping with Metro police, whereas officers had been investigating the scene, a suspect — later recognized as Williams — approached officers along with his fingers in his pockets. Officers mentioned officers repeatedly informed the suspect to take away his fingers from his pockets.
That’s when Williams allegedly continued strolling towards officers, didn’t present his fingers, crossed underneath the crime scene tape and pulled a gun from his pocket.
Officers mentioned Williams fired at officers and three Metro cops returned hearth. In a launch, officers mentioned the gunman died because of the taking pictures.
Utilizing video proof, the TBI and District Legal professional’s Workplace concluded that officers fired their weapons after Williams shot at them first.
The District Legal professional’s Workplace mentioned, in an announcement, “the officers’ actions had been justified in defending themselves and different residents within the space. We’re requesting that the TBI shut this case and no additional motion be taken.”
