Alec Baldwin’s lawyer has described the involuntary manslaughter charges over the deadly taking pictures of Halyna Hutchins as a “horrible miscarriage of justice”.
Baldwin was charged on Thursday with two counts of involuntary manslaughter over Hutchins’ demise on the film set of Rust.
In an announcement to The Unbiased, Luke Nikas stated: “This determination distorts Halyna Hutchins’ tragic demise and represents a horrible miscarriage of justice.
“Mr Baldwin had no purpose to imagine there was a dwell bullet within the gun – or wherever on the film set. He relied on the professionals with whom he labored, who assured him the gun didn’t have dwell rounds. We are going to battle these costs, and we are going to win.”
Baldwin, 64, and the movie’s armourer Hannah Gutierrez Reed have been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter over the taking pictures, New Mexico first judicial district legal professional Mary Carmack-Altwies introduced on Thursday.
First assistant director David Halls has agreed to plead responsible to the cost of negligent use of a lethal weapon.

“After a radical evaluation of the proof and the legal guidelines of the state of New Mexico, I’ve decided that there’s enough proof to file felony costs towards Alec Baldwin and different members of the ‘Rust’ movie crew,” she stated in an emailed assertion.
“On my watch, nobody is above the legislation, and everybody deserves justice.”
