The United Auto Staff’ strike towards the Detroit 3 automakers will pose a unprecedented check for the nation’s greater than 5,600 automotive suppliers, a few of which have simply gotten again on their toes after weathering COVID-19 manufacturing slowdowns.
Counsel for the suppliers have been imploring them for months to shore up liquidity and evaluate contracts with prospects and subsuppliers to brace for a strike that all of them hoped wouldn’t come to cross.
