Syngenta has accused a New York neurologist of probably collaborating with plaintiffs’ attorneys and journalists in a scientific article he co-authored linking its weedkiller paraquat to Parkinson’s illness.
In an Aug. 10 movement to compel with a subpoena that was issued three months in the past for paperwork referring to the 2023 article, Syngenta stated plaintiffs’ attorneys could have been concerned with, or inspired, the analysis by Dr. Earl Ray Dorsey, a professor on the College of Rochester. Plaintiffs’ attorneys within the paraquat multidistrict litigation then “repeatedly” used the analysis “by their briefing and knowledgeable studies,” the movement says.
